Why do people steal?

On Sunday after the NBA Finals in Orlando, back in LA a riot broke out and crowd of people decided it was cool to go around destroy stuff and looting. And they broke into a well known store called The Holy Grail and raided the store. After this business put all their hard work in building a store, consignment and the authenticity of their products.
