While driving around the neighborhood spreading the word about the youth explosion at our church, my wife and I ran into this day care center that was designed to look like Noah’s Ark. Man this is what you talk about standing out. If I needed one I would defiantly look into having my kids go there just for the presentation. Very refreshing!

This is a very touching and inspiring story. My good friend’s (JWILL) brother in-law has used his skills to create equipment to change children with Cerebral Palsy lives for the better.

Overview

It is the belief of doctors, therapists & parents that children with Cerebral Palsy and spasticity in their legs face a constant battle with shortened hamstrings and adductor muscles as they grow.  If not stretched daily, this tightness often contributes to orthopedic problems, which eventually require tendon release and osteotomy surgery to overcome.  To help prevent such surgery and improve the mobility and quality of life of these children, my company will partner w/ special needs organizations and specialists to identify 365 children throughout the USA that have been diagnosed with cerebral palsy & spasticity/tightness problems.  We will then build & deliver the customized equipment FREE to 365 eligible Special Needs Children.

As you know my design background is Architecture, graphic and web designing was something I started on the side before SKILLA was born. An in that field I had a chance to work with Terry Stewart in 2007 on a few interior design projects, we kept in touch even after the projects we worked on were finished. He is a great person and a great Interior designer, his humility and dedication is among the best. It was great to see first hand his creativity and how he puts awesomeness in a room. Sometimes life causes us to hit a wall and we feel to call it quits or give up on our dreams and goals. We may even think of who we can blame for this wall, people who made it to the top before us even though we all started the race at the same time or those who said we would fail. This life that we live is a journey and like in all journeys, there comes a time when the pressure is raised but I believe this race of life is more about endurance, than it is about quickness or speed. So I urge everyone to push forward and never give up, no matter how hard it gets, no evil in life will last forever, this too shall pass and you will be stronger. Also you have an opportunity of helping someone through their hard times with your story of how you overcame. Be Strong!

So the time is here! I will be off to Georgia for good at the end of March. I’m going to miss my wonderful family and my awesome friends. That being said, I’m so excited to be off to ATL because first of all I miss my wife and kids like crazy and I will be able to focus on SKILLA completely. I have some really exciting ideas for building SKILLA in Georgia and I don’t have to worry about too much paperwork because SKILLA was registered in Georgia from day one. So keep my family and I in your prayers as we step out in faith.
